Natasha Kappell (she/her)

senior planning and engagement advisor

Natasha is an experienced engagement consultant with more than a decade of experience working with Indigenous communities in roles ranging from treaty negotiations to regulatory consultation projects.

Natasha is a lead engagement coordinator and consultation advisor on multiple projects with BC Hydro and the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, including coordination of MOTI’s Cultural Recognition actions on major projects in the Lower Mainland.

Natasha facilitated negotiations between Provincial Ministries and First Nations in Northern British Columbia to implement the LNG Environmental Stewardship Initiative, and developed an Indigenous consultation plan for projects with the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations and the Ministry of Environment.

Natasha is a member of the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) and sat on the Advisory Committee (in 2015) which provided recommendations to IAP2 Canada to explore how Indigenous inclusion could be integrated into the IAP2 program.

Natasha holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Victoria and has completed numerous certified training programs including Planning for Effective Public Participation, and Communications & Techniques for Public Participation.
