Thomas Hill
community engagement and planning advisor
Thomas has worked as a researcher, planning analyst and engagement advisor with Hill & Associates for more than two years, as a summer student from the University of Victoria. Thomas has experience working in forest ecology, and is deeply interested in the intersection of ecology, Indigenous land stewardship, and sustainable economic and social development.
Thomas has been instrumental in our research into the potential sustainable uses of biomass and woody debris in the Central Interior of BC, and demonstrating the compound values of access and harvesting of biomass, in terms of its linkage to economic opportunities, landscape restoration, fire prevention, and Indigenous cultural connection to the land.
Thomas completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Victoria in 2024, with a focus on forest sciences. He is also interested in nature photography, outdoor activities and music.
